The capital of Rajasthan is Jaipur. This city was formed in 1st November  1956. Rajasthan is the biggest state of India in terms of area. It’s area is about 3,42,239 Sq. Km. ‘Rajasthan means the place of Kings’. It’s population is about 68,548,437. And it has a density of 200 persons per sq. km. 

Rajasthan has many rivers which includes: Luni, Banas, Kali Sindh, Chambal. It also has  forest and wildlife sanctuaries like: Sariska Tiger Reserve, Keolaeo Ghana NP, Ranthambore NP, hawa WS. 

Rajasthan is India’s largest state. The state animal of Rajasthan is Camel. It’s state bir is Great Indian Bustard, state flower is Rohida and state tree is Khejri. So people are interested for Rajasthan tour.

Rajasthan is also a city of many different festivals. The festivals are Teej, Gangaur, Camel fair, Bikaner, Marwar festival.

Teej:

Teej is a Hindu festival that last for three long days. This ceremony is observe for  Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. This ceremony starts in the monsoon season of July to September. The exact day of this ceremony depends on the moon’s cycle.

Gangaur:

Ganguar is one of the most important festival for Rajasthani people. It is a colorful festival. This festival is celebrated for spring, harvest and marital fidelity. This ceremony occurs during March-April.

Bikaner:

Camel fair, Bikaner is a festival which occurs to honor the ship of the desert Camel. It is a yearly festival in January. This festival is organized by the department of Tourism, Art and Culture.

Marwar:

Marwar festival  in the early centuries were known as Maand festival. It is held between the month of September-October. Folk music is the main attraction of this festival which is centered on the romantic lifestyle of Rajasthan’s Rulers.

There many dance forms in Rajasthan. The major dance forms are Ghoomar , Kalbeliya, Kathputli, puppet theatre. Rajasthan also has its own music forms which is Bhopa. And Panihari music is also famous.

Ghoomar:

The dance form of Ghoomer  became popular in Rajasthan during the Reigns of Rajput Kings. It is mainly performed by women.  It is a traditional dance form of Bhil tribe which is performed to worship Goddess Sarasvati.

Kalbeliya:

Kalbeliya dance form came from the Kalbeliya community. The community is the nomadic tribe of Rajasthan.  The occupation of this community gave them title as Jogira, Sapera because of their trading snake venom and catching snake.

Kathputli:

Katputli  is a puppet dance which is one by many puppeteers. It is a folk dance which is wiely famous. This dance is done mainly about the popular legends.
